World War II is the fifth and final epoch in Empires: Dawn of the Modern World.
Overview[]
World War II upgrades some existing units from the previous age, as well as adding some, depending on the civilization. World War II also is the only age where Wonders can be built. Wonders add a slightly new angle to the game, and can only be built with a huge amount of resources. The triangle in World War II is infantry can defeat anti-tank weapons, anti-tanks can defeat tanks, and tanks can defeat infantry.
History[]
Significant improvements in technology, weapons, troops, strategies and tactics made WWII the first modern battlefield. With its mighty war machine, Germany overcame every adversary except Great Britain by June, 1940.
Four years later, D-Day occurred and the Nazi regime began to topple. The fighting ended less than a year later. In the Pacific theater, war was brought to a close with the most terrifying of all advancements—the atomic bomb.[1]
