Description[]
An Attribute is a stat an unit or building may possess, such as Health Points, Range, and Attack. These stats get gradually stronger throughout the epochs via technologies, but they can also be increased through Civilization Points or Unit Improvements.
Attributes[]
Health Points[]
Health Points or HP is the amount of health of a unit or building, who dies/is destroyed once it reaches zero. A unit's health can be replenished in Hospitals or by Strategist Heroes, and buildings can be repaired by Citizens.
Attack[]
Attack is the amount of damage that can be inflicted to an enemy. Attack depends on the attack of the unit itself and Units relationship (Unit beat and be beaten). Attack types may vary between Shock, Pierce, Arrow, Gun, Missile, and Laser. Some buildings also have an attack stat, such as Towers, a defensive building.
Range[]
Range is the distance that a unit or defensive building can attack from. In earlier epochs, these are most notable in Archers and Siege Weapons. Most units after the Imperial Age have a range statistic. Towers and AA Towers also have the ability to attack from distance. Range takes a great role in both defensive and offensive strategies, whether you need to crush enemy defenses while staying away from danger or to use units to defend yourself behind Walls.
Speed[]
The Speed of a unit refers to how fast it moves. Typically, infantry has moderate speed, with cybers, aircraft, cavalry, and vehicles having faster speed, and siege engines and ships having lower speed. Speed can be very important in large and gigantic maps. Speed also affects the gather rate of Citizens, since it reduces the time it takes for them to drop off resources.
Shock[]
The Shock Armor or just Shock is how well a unit resists against shock attacks, which are mostly seen in earlier epochs (such as the Maceman and the Horseman from the Copper Age). This attribute is notable in Pierce units like the Phalanx or Bronze Cavalry, but are also found in shock units themselves.
Pierce[]
The Pierce Armor is the resistance to pierce attacks (Spearman, Phalanx, Pikeman etc.). Present in archers, but also for pierce units themselves.
Arrow[]
Arrow Armor is the resistance to arrow damage inflicted by archers. This attribute is possessed by both Shock units and archers, but is more effective for shock units, especially due to units relationship.
Gun[]
Gun Armor is the resistance to gun attacks from ranged units. Becomes very important after the Renaissance, since gunpowder becomes the main used weapon until the Digital Age. Cataphracts, Royal/Imperial Cuirassiers and Tanks have high gun armor.
Laser[]
The Laser Armor becomes available in late epochs (Digital to Space Age). This attribute determines how well units endure Laser attacks, which are used by infantry (Sentinels, Guardians, Watchmen), Tanks and Cybers.
Missile[]
The Missile Armor is a hidden attribute that cannot be increased by improvements or civilization points. However, it is present in the game in late epochs. It is the resistance a unit has to missile attacks from Bazookas, Minotaurs, Zeus and other units. Most Missile attacks are ineffective against gun infantry and buildings. Its hidden factor allowed it to be assigned for multiple non-missile units such as archaic Siege Weapons and Towers.
It is possible to edit this attribute in the Scenario Editor through the usage of triggers.
Area Effect[]
The Area Effect attribute determines the width of the area affected by an attack. It is first noted in Siege Weapons like Catapults and Trebuchets. Then, other units who have this attribute will appear, such as Hand Cannoneers and Mortars from the Barracks, the Bomber/Nuclear Bomber airplanes and lastly, submarines.
Transport[]
Transport Capacity is the maximum amount of population that can be carried inside a unit or building. It can't be increased with civ points or improvements, but upgrading your transport units throughout the epochs will grant them more carrying space.
Flight Time[]
Flight Time is the attribute responsible for how long airplanes can fly for without having to return to the Airport. Improving this along with Speed can be very useful for large maps.
Power[]
Power is an attribute for specific units and buildings. It is necessary for performing a special ability, such as the Prophet's Calamities or the Strategist Heroes' War Cry. More Power allows for more abilites to be performed during the same occasion. Once Power is consumed, the Power meter starts to gradually refill itself. Units have 100 Power by default.
Unit Improvements[]
Unit Improvements are an in-game mechanic. They allow your units to perform tasks better during gameplay. These are taught in the Learning Campaign. Improvements cost Points, and units can get upgraded until 10 points have been consumed. Attributes might require 1 or 2 points per upgrade. This limit can be bypassed in the Scenario Editor.
These are the attributes that cost:
- 1 Point: Shock, Pierce, Arrow, Gun, Laser.
- 2 Points: Health Points, Attack, Speed, Range, Power, Flight Time, Area Effect.
Attribute improvements also cost a resource fee that starts with the same price as the unit itself, then becomes more expensive the more you choose to upgrade of it.
Heroes cannot be improved.
