Description

The Trebuchet is a heavy siege weapon in Empires: Dawn of the Modern World used by the English to take out both buildings and infantry. The Black Death ability throws a diseased cow that contaminates the impact area, damaging units within the area over time (75 power, hotkey D).

Prince Louis of France brought the trebuchet to England in the early 13th Century. Trebuchets were the ultimate siege weapons of their day, launching 300 pound stones and even decaying animals a great distance. Legend says the 14th Century outbreak of the Black Death began at the Siege of Caffe, when attackers lobbed plague-ridden corpse into the town.
