The Continental System is the third scenario of the Russian Campaign in Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy.
Briefing[]
The Continental System.
1808
After signing the Treaty of Tilsit, Russia became part of Napoleon's Continental System, a highly restrictive economic partnership designed to thwart Britian's blockade. Russia's own economy soon suffered and in an effort to expand Russia's power and influence, Alexander took Russia to war against Sweden and Finland. France agreed to keep out of the conflict and respect Russia's teritorial claims.
- Russia must quickly conquer Finland to gain access to their resources before Sweden can mount an effective defense.
History[]
The Treaty of Tilsit, signed by Alexander and Napoleon, essentially divided Europe between Russia and France. Napoleon agreed to respect Russia's right to pursue an independent foreign policy and in exchange Alexander agreed to make Russia a part of the Continental System, the economic partnership Napoleon was trying to create to thwart Britian's blockade. Of course, cut off from most of the word, Russia's own economy started to suffer. Alexander felt Russia must expand or slowyl wither. In 1808, he took his country to war against Sweden and Finland.
