The Siege Crossbow is a powerful Chinese Gunpowder Age field weapon in Empires: Dawn of the Modern World that can kill almost any unit in one shot. It is one of the few units, along with the Fork Cart and Barbarian Cannon, that is constructed by Citizen units.
A double-bow crossbow uses a second bow to increase the force imparted to the projectile. After the Chinese invented gunpowder, they created incendiary projectiles that exploded against the target.[1]
