Scorched Earth is the fourth scenario of the Russian Campaign in Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy.
Briefing[]
Scorched Earth.
Russia, 1812.
Infuriated by Russia's ill-concealed trading relationship with the British, Napoleon built a mammoth force, La Grand Armee, numbering over 400,000 soldiers and invaded Russia. Although unsurprised at the French attack, Alexander was still in no position to block their advance. Napoleon's forces moved rapidly towards Moscow, but Alexander had elected to salt the land before them, leaving the French troops nothing of any use. The Russians needed to wear down the enemy while building up their own strength for a massive counterattack.
History[]
By 1812, it became evident to Napoleon that Russia was anything but a loyal partner in the Continental System. Russian ports were all but openly trading with the British and Russian army was becoming battle-hardened and well equipped. In June of 1812, Napoleon's Grand Armee, a force of over 400,000 crossed the river Niemen into Russia. The invasion had begun and Russia was forced to trade territory for time as they fell back and gathered their forces.

- Trade territory for time and build up your forces away from the advancing French.
- Fortifiy your territories around Moscow to stall the French as long as possible.
- The French are not prepared for winter fighting. If you delay counterattacking until after December, your troops will have an advantage.
