Flag of Novaya Russia. Novaya Russia is a fictional civilization in Empire Earth. It was founded in 2016, by Grigor Stoyanovich. They are the main focus of the Russian Campaign, as both the player's civilization and an enemy (in the last 2 scenarios). The flag of Novaya Russia is a gold, Russian Orthodox cross over a red background. Description The fall of the USSR in the early 1990s led to a generation of near-stagnation in Russia. While some former Soviet and Eastern Bloc states managed to transform their governments and economies relatively quickly, Russia, the largest of the former states in terms of both size and population, struggled to find its place in the new world order. By the 2010s, very little had changed. The Russian people had yet to see any of the benefits that were supposed to result from the downfall of communism. It was time to try something else. Following the food riots of 2016, a young Russian nationalist stepped into the public eye. Disenchanted with western-style reforms and hungering for the return of a strong Russia, Grigor Stoyanovich set in motion a chain of events that would return his nation to the center of the world's stage. Trivia Novaya Russia is the villain protagonist of the Russian Campaign, detailing their rise to power under Grigor Stoyanovich and Grigor II before seeing the perspective from the disillusioned Sergei Molotov. In the Asian Campaign, they are one of the allies in The Breaking Point, and one of the main antagonists in the third, fifth, and sixth scenarios. They also attack Japan in Look to the Stars, are considered the Martian corporatists in Ghost Ship Insurrection (referred to as New Novaya), thus making them the main antagonists, and one of the minor antagonists alongside the United States in Things to Come. The expansion grants Novaya Russia the Missile Base as their unique Civilization Power building.
