The Montgolfier Balloon is a flying support unit of the Franks in Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, which can be built from the Siege Factory. It can detect stealthy units, and is able to drop propaganda leaflets to demoralize enemies, reducing their attack (50 power, hotkey D).
The French used the Montgolfier balloon for military observation and at times even for attack purposes, bringing death from above. In Empires, the Montgolfier Balloon will demoralize enemy troops with awe and fright as it floats over the battlefield.[1]
