Empire Earth Wiki

Description[]

Henry V is a Warrior Hero in Empire Earth. He's the representative Warrior Hero of the Renaissance and is also present in the English Campaign. He only appears once as the main character in the We Band of Brothers scenario, where he leads the wipe out of the Lollard heresy from England and a later invasion in France, as a result of a failed negotiation of lands once owned by William the Conqueror.

Official Bio[]

During the nine years of his reign, Henry V took a weak England and turned it into a major power. As a young man he fought against rebels in Wales, taking command of the English forces after 1403. When his father, Henry IV, died in 1413, he ascended to the throne. Henry successfully thwarted two early plots against him and, soon thereafter, embarked on the campaign for which he is best known: the planned conquest of France near the end of the Hundred Years’War. Henry’s superlative leadership and military skills led to important victories at Harfleur (Sept., 1415) and, a month later, at the Battle of Agincourt. At Agincourt, Henry used archers and superior tactics to overcome overwhelming odds, inflicting some 6,000 French casualties at a cost of fewer than 500 English soldiers. Henry secured a treaty with the French in 1420 which provided that he would become King of France, but he fell ill and died in 1422 mere months before it would have come to pass.

History[]

We Band of Brothers[]

King Henry's unsuccessful claims of french territories once owned by his ancestor, William I, led him no other choice but to spill blood for them. Meanwhile, another threat to the throne had been discovered - Henry's own old friend Sir John Oldcastle had organized a heretic coup, called the Lollards, against the kingdom, and set a plot to murder the king himself as he sat in London. Henry quickly evacuated the throne and built up forces, with which he then rode around England, extinguishing the Lollard heresy and capturing Oldcastle. With the rebellion contained, France insulted Henry by sending him tennis balls as a "gift" to make him give in on the reconquest of Normandy. It was time to conquer what was England's by right. The english set sail to the northwest of France and engaged in battle with french soldiers, resulting in the Battle of Agincourt with the victory of the english.
